With Lieven 8, Lieven De Key has realized a sustainable building. The building is completely gas-free and is equipped with installations to generate heat and electricity in a sustainable way.

Heat and hot water

The main consequence for the residents is the contract for hot water and heat. Lieven 8 has a heat and cold storage (WKO) installation. On this page you will find more information about a WKO installation. Lieven De Key has asked Eteck to manage this installation for the next 30 years. This also means that Eteck will conclude contracts with residents for the next 30 years for the supply of hot water and heat. Residents therefore do not have a free choice of a supplier for hot water and heat.

Lieven De Key has agreed a fixed rate with Eteck, which is the maximum they can charge the residents, namely €50 per month per residence. This amount increases with the CPI.

Solar panels

There are solar panels on the roof. The proceeds of this will be used to provide electricity for the common areas. The surplus is returned to an energy supplier.

Underfloor heating

All homes are heated by means of underfloor heating and cooling. You have your own thermostat in the house.

The bathroom has an electric radiator.

Ventilation

The house has a ventilation system. Every home has a co2 meter that constantly monitors the air quality.
